Low back pain? Start here! Grab a big ice pack for your back especially if your pain goes down into your hip or leg and try this. When this "exercise" (more like resting position) is comfortable, progress to Prone on Elbows, then try Repeated Extension in Lying.
These are McKenzie's Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy's (MDT) basic exercises for low back to be used if your back pain is diagnosed as a Derangement and an Extension Responder. It won't work or may make you worse if you're a Flexion Responder, so be sure to consult with your MDT clinician.
